Out on the Northern High Plains, Colorado, United States
I've been part of the preparedness community for 25+ years and I am an active member of a local "no BS" survivalist/preparedness group. Over the past few years I've been active in the 9/11 truth movement, little "L" Libertarianism, Freestate Wyoming and some good old fashioned capitalism (I'm an independent telecommunications contractor/engineer). My wife and I (Handfasted 15 years) are currently in a very steady relationship with another couple (yes, we're polyamourous) out here on the high plains of Colorado . We raise our own produce in our big garden and our long term goal is to move back out to the hinterlands and build, as much as possible, a self-sufficient lifestyle on our little farmstead. In general, we're the "Adams Family" meets "Stranger in a Strange Land" with a bit of "Freehold" thrown in. It's been said, I'm not a hairy cowboy, I'm very well groomed mountain-man.
"The uncontested absurdities of today are the accepted slogans of tomorrow. They come to be accepted by degrees, by precedent, by implication, by erosion, by default, by dint of constant pressure on one side and constant retreat on the other - until the day when they are suddenly declared to be the country's official ideology". -- Ayn Rand
"America is at that awkward stage; it's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards". -- Claire Wolfe
"Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort". -- Robert Heinlein
"Whenever the Legislators endeavour to take away, and destroy the Property of the People, or to reduce them to Slavery under Arbitrary Power, they put themselves into a state of War with the People, who are thereupon absolved from any farther Obedience..." -- John Locke
